Technical Education System plays a critical role in shaping the growth of the Indian Economy. Even through the Technical Education System in the country is one of the largest in the World, the demand for talented Engineering Graduates far exceeds the supply.

In view of this it is important to introduce reform in the development of students who join Engineering Institutes. Babu Banarasi Das Group of Educational Institutions which comprises Babu Banarasi Das National Institute of Technology and Management, Northern India Engineering College and several other Institutions has undertaken lead in developing the quality of education & thereby the quality of the pass outs.

One significant step in this direction is the establishment of Training & Placement Cell, a centralized set up, that looks after need of students in terms of professional training, participation in live projects, development of personality besides team building, group activations and career counseling.

The Training & Placement cell ensures the presence of "BBD Group of Educational Institutions" amongst the cross-section of Industry and Institutions alike.

The students are required to undertake summer internship or live projects at the end of each academic year, which constitutes an integral part of the curriculum and is valued for the exposure it provides. The institute organizes pre placement training, GD & aptitude test for appearing in personal interviews.

Professional Skill Development in students is concentrated upon and Institute is running in house certification education in C++, Oracle and CCNA to enable students to get better market presence.

Each and every student has been provided Summer Training in various leading companies all over our Country. Their performance is assessed, discussed and feedback thus obtain is utilized to further improve the Training Process.

One of the criterion to meet the requirement of organizations, is to have talents who are exposed to industrial environment and having worked on job project assignment. We therefore, lay special emphasis in sending students for vocational training to industries/organization of repute. The cell makes systematic efforts in this direction.

Campus interviews are organised by the institute for final placement in the corporate world.

The trac record of placements in the institute has been very satisfactory.
All the pass outs in first batch of Engineering were absorbed in public, private and MNC, note-worthy amongst them were Indian Army, Indian Air Force, DRDO, Reliance Global, Infosys, TCS, Technosys etc. In the Pharmacy, all students found employment even before their results were announced.

All Management Post Graduates also found placements in leading companies.
For the year 2003, companies numbering sixteen have visited our campus for selecting candidates for their organizations. About 700 students have got opportunity to present their performances.

Institution has direct interaction with CII, where our Director (Engineering) is its member, also have association with PHDCCI and FICCI. Our Senior faculty are members of AIMA and LMA. Also, placed is a "placement request". Companies are requested to indicate their preferences. Two alternatives are suggested :

• Invite companies to conduct campus interviews

• Companies may send requirements and 'cell' could send short-listed candidate for perusal.

Request is made to companies to induct young talents, who, we are sure, would exhibit diligence, integrity, and dedication, in their assignments.

• All students of first batch (Final Year) of engineering branches and second batch of management (still awaiting results) have been provided placement opportunities in various companies. 

• More than three dozen Campus' held.

• Several students have already joined organizations such as Armed Forces, Essar, Uptec, Daksh.com, Birla Sugar, Shivgarh, Cipla, ICICI Bank, Hinustan Times, Garden Enclave, Spectamind, Technosys, Real-Time Automation, Madhyam Computers, Total Presentation etc.
